Dear Mrs Ahmed,

I have been meaning to write to you ever since we moved in next door, simply to say a heartfelt thank you for all your kindness.

When we first arrived three months ago, everything felt overwhelming, and your warm welcome made an enormous difference. You took the time to show us around the neighbourhood, recommended the best local shops, and even brought round a home-cooked meal on our very first evening, when our kitchen was still full of boxes.

Your help did far more than make our move easier; it made us feel that we had truly found a home and a friend, rather than just a new house. We are genuinely grateful.

To show our appreciation, my family and I would love to invite you and your husband to dinner at our home next Saturday evening. It would give us a chance to return your kindness and to get to know you both a little better.

I do hope you can come.

Warm regards, [Your name]
