Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to express my sincere appreciation following my recent stay at your hotel from 10 to 13 March, and in particular to commend one outstanding member of your staff.

During my stay, a receptionist named Maria went well beyond what I expected. When my flight was cancelled and I was left stranded, she calmly rearranged my room for an extra night, helped me find an alternative flight, and even arranged a complimentary taxi to the airport the following morning. She did all of this with remarkable warmth and professionalism.

Thanks to her, what could have been a stressful experience became a genuinely pleasant one, and it is the main reason I will recommend your hotel to friends and colleagues.

I would be grateful if you could pass on my thanks to Maria personally, and perhaps recognise her excellent service in some formal way. Staff of her calibre are a real asset to your business.

Yours faithfully, [Your name]
