Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to apply for the part-time Sales Assistant position at Greenfield Stores, which I saw advertised in the local newspaper, the Evening Gazette, on 8 May.

I believe I would be well suited to the role. I have over two years' experience working in retail, including a previous position at a busy clothing shop where I handled customer enquiries, operated the till, and managed stock. I am friendly, reliable, and comfortable working as part of a team, and I take pride in offering excellent customer service.

As I am currently studying part-time, the flexible hours of this position would fit my schedule perfectly, and I am keen to gain further experience in a customer-facing role.

I am available to start immediately and could work any weekday afternoon as well as weekends. I have attached my CV and would welcome the opportunity to discuss my application at an interview.

Thank you for considering my application.

Yours faithfully, [Your name]
